About Aura Nebula: The Visual Reveal

Hello everyone.

Today is a milestone we’ve been looking forward to for a long time. It’s finally time to reveal the Aura Nebula! What you see here is a pre-production prototype; while it hasn't received its final decorative flourishes yet, the silhouettes of the earbuds and the charging case are essentially finalized.

While design is vital, at SOUNDPEATS, sound always comes first. We will continue to refine the tuning and make minor adjustments before mass production begins, but we felt it was crucial to have the acoustic signature nearly perfected before revealing its form. Releasing these photos is our way of saying that the sound of the Aura Nebula has reached its final destination.

When playing a track like Love Song for #1 by Colleen May, the realism of the intake of breath is startlingly vivid. Against a vast soundstage, the piano resonates with a natural echo, and as her voice anchors perfectly in the center, it’s a performance that gives us chills—even after listening to it countless times. While the Aura Nebula’s exceptional low-end reproduction makes it a perfect match for tracks featuring an upright bass, once you start listening to great music with sound this good, the technicalities just seem to melt away.

As for the listening setup, we’re currently pairing the Aura Nebula with a Bluetooth transmitter connected via USB to a smartphone. It’s a fantastic solution that brings 96kHz/24bit Hi-Res wireless audio to almost any smartphone or PC. The transmitter is the TrueStream X1, which is coming soon. We highly recommend it to iPhone users who are typically limited to SBC and AAC—it’s the perfect companion to unlock the full potential of the Aura Nebula.
