Sound quality - I found the sound quality to be exceptional and from my experience I have never encountered another product that came close in this price range. To be honest when I received the SOUNDPEATS Life earbuds I was not expecting much but from the moment I began listening I was impressed. The range and clarity of the sound is excellent and I found that the full spectrum of sound is covered as I listened to a wide range of music. I was able to hear the quietest sounds and elements that were completely missed when listening with other earbuds. I would not change anything in the high and mid ranges and while the bass sound is very good it doesn’t quite have that extra boom that I have heard in earbuds offered in a much higher price range. But don’t get me wrong the level of base is great I’m just pointing out that if compared to very high-end earbuds it doesn’t have quite the same depth.
Fit – I have many pairs of earbuds but these are the first earbuds that I have encountered that stayed in for the entirety of my 5 ½ mile daily workout. The only other earbuds that I have that will stay in place either have an over the ear hook or in ear wings. Not only did these earbuds stay put in my ears but I also did not have to change tips for a perfect fit which is also a first.
Connection – The earbuds connect very quickly with both my phone, iPhone, my PC and laptop and I have had no issues with connection problems or range issues.
Noise canceling – The active noise canceling works very well. I‘ve used these earbuds in very noisy situations and been pleased with their ability to block out noise. I use them in my shop working with very loud power tools and while working in the yard also with noisy power tools and the noise levels are similar to what I experience wearing noise protection headphones. When I want extra protection I sometimes place my noise protection headphones over the SoundPeats earbuds which also allows me to listen to music while I’m working. The great thing about the active noise canceling is that I have the ability to adjust the noise level like when I’m working out and want to hear traffic noise for protection I set the earbuds to transparent mode in the app.
Battery – The battery life has been great. I generally don’t listen more than 2 hours at a time and each time I want to use the earbuds they have been fully charged and ready to go through the stored battery capacity in the case. Because I don’t listen for really long periods of time, I can’t say for certain how long they can go on a charge just that they meet my needs.
Case – The case is compact and can fit in just about any pocket, even a shirt pocket. The earbuds seem to just fall right into place in their dedicated slots and begin charging right away with lights on the earbud stems indicating their status.
Charging – Charging seems to be really quick whether charging the earbuds from the case battery or charging the case through its USB C connection. The one thing I think that could be improved is that there is just one very tiny green light on the outside of the case that slowly blinks when charging and becomes solid green when charged. I think it would be better to have several lights indicating the amount of charge left and the current level of charging the case is at.
App – The SoundPeats app doesn’t have a lot of extra garbage that I don’t need and will not use, it has just the settings I need like sound profile presets, I like the classic setting, or a custom equalizer, noise reduction settings and the ability to adjust the latency setting for faster synchronization while playing games.
Conclusion – I think for all the reasons listed above, and being offered at a very affordable price, the SoundPeats Life earbuds are an unbeatable value. Given the performance of these very affordable earbuds I hope at some point to test out the Capsule3 Pro earbuds, the specs are amazing.
